I-70 Eastbound / Westbound Eisenhower/Johnson Tunnels (Milemarker 213-215)
Single lane traffic with 20-minute delays are scheduled overnight Sunday through Thursday starting Monday, April 6, and continuing through early May at the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnels on I-70 to install fire suppression systems. Traffic control begins at 8 p.m. with a full closure of one tunnel in place by 10 p.m. The tunnel will reopen by 6:30 a.m. the following morning. One bore will remain open at all times, with traffic alternating in each direction using a pilot car leading traffic through the open tunnel. US 6 Loveland Pass is the alternate route. Work is scheduled as follows: April 26 – 30 Westbound bore closed May 3 Westbound bore closed The closure dates could change if weather interferes. Road Closure began April 22nd, 2015 at 8:43am.
US 6 Eastbound / Westbound Loveland Pass (Milemarker 220-229)
Due to adverse weather conditions. Hazmat will be allowed access through the Eisenhower Tunnel at the top of the hour. Road Closure began April 26th, 2015 at 6:14pm.
Twin Tunnels Work
I-70 Eastbound / Westbound Twin Tunnels east of Idaho Springs (Milemarker 242)
Daily lane closures at Twin Tunnels, possible delays 7 am to 5 pm. Restriction began April 6th, 2015 at 9:30am.
I-70 Westbound / Eastbound Dowd Junction to East Avon (Milemarker 170-168)
Eastbound traffic shifted over to westbound lanes for single lane traffic in each direction. 11 foot width restriction. Speed limit reduced to 45 mph. Expect delays. Road work will continue until May 21, 2015. Incident began April 19th, 2015 at 8:00pm. May 21
I-70 Westbound / Eastbound Hwy CO 103 (Exit 240) in Idaho Springs (Milemarker 240-240)
Daily lane closures Mon-Fri, weather permitting. Incident began January 16th, 2015 at 6:33am.
